Site Kit Features Overview

After installation and activation have been completed, it is time to start activating Google features. I want to believe you won’t need a walkthrough as you’ve always used lots of features from Google. It’s about the same process as using your Google account for a sign-in process instead of the typical email and password access method.

You will enable as many features as you need. Please note that each WordPress admin user will have to log in to Google Site Kit with their account to be able to use Site Kit.

Search Console

After connecting the Search Console, you will be having access to search traffic insights from Google. You will be able to know how many people found you through search over various periods of time. Basically, from the overview point, will be seeing the following data:

  • Clicks via search
  • Impressions via search
  • Click through ratio (CTR)

You will also be seeing the queries that brought traffic to your website. If you are already using a different plugin, like Rank Math, you might not need to activate this feature.

Google Analytics

From the overview screen, you can easily find, using a pie chart, a quick view of your traffic sources and their percentage chunk they do represent.

Most people will see the following traffic sources:

  • Direct
  • Referral
  • Organic Search

Other available traffic sources are:

  • Email
  • Social
  • Other

The Analytics add-on will give you information about your top pages and audience overview in addition to the traffic sources information.

Page Speed Insights

This part of things helps you see how well your website performs based on a number of tests for both the desktop version and the mobile versions of your website.

Please note that information from Page Speed Insights is based on data for how your site performs on Google Chrome for Desktop and Mobile and data is collected and refined based on the experience of your visitors who use Google Chrome browser.
